Redundant AUs in configuration of AK 1703 ACP

Using the SCA-RS Voter in redundant system is only one option of the different possible configurations.
It is just an option and in my point of view no  more state-of-the art. In the attachment, please also find the latest manual of SICAM AK redundancy.
The SCA-RS is a voter  in a separate  rack, which should be equipped with redundand modules. Nevertheless, the SCA-RS redundancy switch 6MF1007-0AA10-0AA0 is announced for phase out and seems very specific set-up

Measurement of voltages and currents is necessary for protection. Currently sensors, delivering analog values, are directly wired to the protection devices. Since the relays in a substation are normally situated in a central building this wiring has to cover a distance. In an EMC critical area like a high voltage substation this demands high power signals resulting in big copper cables. For conventional instrument transformers this is proven technology.

SIPROTEC 7SC805 Merging Unit

SIPROTEC 7SC805 is a KEMA-certified stand alone merging unit designed according to the standard IEC 61850-9-2 process bus. The Merging Unit SIPROTEC 7SC805 digitizes the output of conventional instrument transformers synchronized to a time synchronization signal. The device converts the analog values to sampled measured value telegrams according to the IEC 61850-9-2 standard.
